answers and some sadie love

i'm just answering a couple of questions from a few post back...

thanks to this blessed nest for your sweet comments about our kitchen! here's a full tour of it!

girlies day

whew...i'm a little behind on blogging! wednesday we had a girls day...so much fun! i met mom, susanne, and mckinlee at justice where mck was getting some cute back to school stuff, then we headed over to panera's for lunch. i had their new oven roasted turkey artichoke panini. can i say yum?! of course i love anything that has artichokes in it! sadie bella did so good in the big girl high chair but man does she keep me busy these days. she is looking at/touching everything now, and is not content to just sit. mom and susanne. don't they look so much alike in this pic?
after panera's we went to a boutique where mom got susanne and i pandora bracelets!! they are so beautiful if you don't know what they are, google them. and she got us each a charm to start our collection. SO SWEET!!

and she got mck 2 new charms for her bracelet she got at disney world!

all of the girls!

we had such a fun time with them being here this week...it's always sad when they leave. hopefully in the fall, we can go to plano more often to stay with them.

mayborn museum

on tuesday we went to the mayborn museum on the baylor university campus!

it's a gorgeous museum and has great stuff for kids too.

here we are at the beginning with ginormous tusks in the background...did you know our little town has the largest concentration of mammoths to die in one disaster? there's this whole excavation site and a really cool glass floored exhibit that you walk on and feel like you're going to fall through onto the mammoth bones. susanne and mckinlee in front of the whale head skeleton (that's not the technical term ;)

ooh, and can i just say that i want to live with laura ingalls and ma and pa and even mary, although she was boring until she went blind, then i just felt sorry for her, in their little house on the prarie?! the museum has a little log cabin with an old bed and spinning wheel and a wooden baby crib inside. susanne and i just stood there for awhile talking about how great it would be to live in old times. (that is until she has a migraine and no excedrin or i have a stomachache and no heating pad! ha!)

sadie belle cheesing for daddy. she did great and loved the museum. her fav part? the aquarium...i think it reminded her of her baby einstein musical aquarium on her crib.

the museum has all these cool rooms for kids to explore. this was the transportation room!

the heart room...sadie and i were standing inside of a big heart and we could hear it beating. cool!

in the heart room was a cabinet full of old doctor stuff...like a stethoscope, dr's bag, herbs, ipecac, and other instruments. whew, i'm rethinking the little house on the prairie thing...especially if the doc brought all this scary stuff when he came!

and finally my knight in shining armor next to the big knight in shining armor...was that cheesy enough for you? good.

speaking of the hubs, he's sick today with a bad summer cold. and he's not a good patient! he's has a sick puppy look on his face all day and has blown his nose a million times. poor thing...i think he's needs a hug.

i think i'm tired!

we have had a very busy few days!

here is sadie belle in her new walker...she can walk backwards in it but not forwards yet. mike took a few days off of work so we started his vacation time with dessert and a movie. we ate red velvet cake and drank milk and watched confessions of a shopaholic. here's our attempt at a self-timer pic!
these next few pictures are out of order, but that's ok...susanne and mckinlee are in town and came over yesterday to watch sadie while mike and i went to austin for the day.

we stopped at la madeline's for lunch before shopping...here is our little tiramisu dessert. so yum!

and i got the chicken cordon bleu dinner. oh my goodness, it was so good!!!

we went to ikea and got a couple of pictures for the house, then we went to banana republic and kohl's and dsw. i got a really cute purple dress at kohl's. after that we went to the georgetown town square which was quaint and fun, but it was 102 degrees yesterday so our walking around was limited. we grabbed some mexican food and drove home. such a fun day.

then sunday morning we left bright and early to go the the convention in belton (we have a bible convention every summer that we go to). anyway we're breaking up the 3 day convention and going 1 day at a time for the next 3 weeks, just to make it easier on sadie and us since it's an all day thing. she did really well on sunday, but i wore an uncomfortable dress and super high heels and didn't pack enough extra outfits for sadie. she kept spitting up all day because when she gets excited, she bounces up and down and it makes her spit up. we made it til mid afternoon, then came home and took a nap!

sunday night we went to double dave's pizza for the guys' fantasy football draft order pick (hope i got that right ;) sadie was so busy and active, i was exhausted by the end of sunday night. but she got to see her little friend, abigail, there. wish i'd gotten some pics of them!

and lastly, tonight we went to the photographer's studio to look at proofs from our session...take a look and let me know what you think! i really loved them!

neighborhood party

on tuesday night, our neighborhood had a party in our neighbor's driveway! it was really nice to get to meet all of our neighbors-we've had lots of new people move in over the last year. it was a barbecue and we were supposed to bring desserts or appetizers, so i made an angel food cake...well really i just bought it and spread cool whip and strawberries over it! easy and yummy miss sadie at the party

she and owen (who is 6 weeks older than her) it's neat to think that they'll go to school together in 4 1/2 years! i love both of their expressions in this one

today was super busy...i worked, then went to the gym and worked out, and i had brought all my stuff to shower and change and go to my hair appt. except i forgot my bra!! good night, where has my mind gone? anyway i had to rush home and get a bra then rush back to get my hair done :) i got my hilights touched up and some lowlights added plus she shaped my hair up, so it turned out pretty good...i'll have to post a pic of it.

tommorrow is sadie's 6 month pics! hope it goes well and we have a SUPER busy weekend planned-so i'll be back sunday or monday to let you know how everything goes!

heat wa-a-a-a-ve

lordy it's hot here. and i love summer, but this is ridiculous. do you wanna know what our weather forecast is for the next week? 101 and sunny, 103 and sunny, 100 and sunny.....i'm ready for either a little cool front (ha!) or a pool in my backyard-neither of which is happening!

so friday is sadie and daddy lunch day and we went to chipotle. miss s loves to drink water out of mike's straw so here she is waiting with mouth ready and here she's is drinking it up. funny story about the little boy behind us...sadie was being super loud that day, shrieking with every bite of her lunch and after awhile, the little boy would turn around and say something that sounded like 'no,no'! i guess he's heard his mom say that to him!

we rarely leave home without 'bumbles' her bumblebee toy that she adores. love that sweet pic of daddy kissing her!

saturday afternoon we babyproofed the house. i was overwhelmed before we even started because our house is so not baby proof, and i thought it would take forever, but it really didn't. mike and i worked hard and got pretty much everything put away and locked that needed to be.

sadie loves being in her stroller, so this morning we strolled in the backyard a little bit. mostly in the shade under the fans! but she just loves being outdoors and looking at the plants and trees.

and her new thing is examining her bouncer and trying to eat the straps. she is so close to crawling too! she gets one leg up but can't get the other one yet. soon i'm sure!
