two months

i can't believe my baby is two months old! every month i take a picture of sadie beside her frog... she had it beside her in her newborn picture, and i'm planning on doing it until she's a year old to see how much she's grown.

another thing i'm doing (thanks to susanne's suggestion) is taking a family picture on the 16th of every month to document our little family. here's this month's picture.

today was sadie's 2 month dr's visit and she did great. she weighs 11.3 pounds and is 23.5 inches long. she got a shot in each leg, and cried for about 30 seconds, then she was okay. i don't think she feels great this afternoon, though, poor little thing. but here we were at the dr's office...

happy thursday!

fun with the girls

this week has been so fun so far! susanne and mckinlee came to stay here for spring break, so we've been doing a lot of eating/talking/shopping! it is so cute to see mckinlee with sadie, she is so good with her and such a big help to me. like today, when normally i can barely keep my eyes open in the early afternoon because i'm so tired, but i have to because sadie's awake, i didn't have to!!! i got to take a 2 hour nap. thank you susanne and mckinlee!
yesterday, we met kali for lunch at chipotle. it was so yum and i love all of their fresh ingredients. i get the chicken burrito with pinto beans, cilantro rice, sour cream, and medium salsa.

i just realized that i need to get a picture of mck and sadie before they leave!

here is my sweet sadie smiling. she's started smiling so much now, it's just adorable!

she has also decided now that she's 2 months old or maybe because of daylight savings (i'm not sure which), that 7:30 is no longer her bedtime. now it is 9:45 to 10:00 which really cuts down on mommy's sleeping time! it's like as soon as we get some sort of routine down, it changes! i guess that's what having a baby is about, huh?!

all you need is love

on thursday afternoon braely came over to see sadie and visit with me. it was so nice to catch up and talk since we don't live in the same city anymore! and i'm so glad i got a picture of she and sadie because she got pictures of me with amelia and luke after they were born (those are her precious kids)
on friday, we had a girls' lunch at panera...it was so much fun!

i LOVE this picture of jennifer with sadie!

and saturday night was mom and les' 1st anniversary party! i can't believe they've already been married a year...we went to se cocina for dinner (the BEST mexican food restaurant!) then we all came back to our house for dessert and presents...

susanne and mckinlee (chris couldn't make it)

peggy and aaron

vicki and nathan

they got some great gifts for their new house. did i tell you they're building a house just down the street from us? (most convenient for babysitting ;)

the pink cupcakes were strawberry, the green were chocolate, and the orange were italian cream. so YUMMY!! and the fruit tray was delish too!

it was such fun weekend! tonight we're going to enjoy the gorgeous spring weather and grill ribs for dinner. and i'm determined to organize my closet too while susanne and mckinlee are here for spring break.
happy sunday!

learning to play and a fun lunch

sadie is becoming so much more alert and has decided she prefers short little naps instead of 2-3 hour naps! i propped her up on her boppy yesterday with some toys and she had fun looking at everything and learning to play a little. doesn't her hand on her chin look like she's thinking really hard?! she loved the block in front of her...i told her what each picture was and she just stared and stared at it. aren't black, white, and red supposed to be great developmental colors for new babies?

here she is with her best friend "wubba nub" (that's its real name) or "binkers" as i prefer to call him. whoever came up with this idea is genius- a pacifier that doesn't fall out every 2 seconds. there are several different animals that you can get, but we think hers is an odd looking cow. not quite sure!

nana took this one while i was at the dentist. i wish i looked so cute when i sleep :)

here she is this morning before we left to run errands. we had to stop by the cutest bakery to order cupcakes for mom and les' anniversary party this saturday. after that, we met daddy for lunch at panera.

lunch was so yummy and it's just a perfect day, like 74 degrees and no clouds in the sky. after sadie wakes up from her nap, i think we'll take a walk and enjoy the sunshine.

(can you tell she loves her daddy?)

happy wednesday!

online shopping

i was not feeling well this weekend, so i decided to do a little online shopping. that's always a good cure for a stomachache isn't it?
i started a j.crew and got a really cute rosette tissue tee and a couple of light sweaters perfect for spring.
then i made my way to anthro and found this beautiful dress that i'm going to wear to memorial on march 30th (memorial is the celebration of Jesus' death in case you didn't know. it's an annual observance and the most special day of the year to us) so i needed a special dress! and sadie is wearing light pink and cream, so we'll coordinate.
i also stopped by this site and picked up some baby hair gel to try and tame miss sadie's wild hair.
after a great lunch at 5 guys burgers and fries with mike, mom, and les, we continued the shopping at the gap. they have a great deal going on right now that if you donate any denim apparel, you get jeans 30% off. it's to help with relief efforts for areas affected by natural disasters. so i got a pair of boyfriend jeans for spring and a bunch of gapbody stuff on sale. i figured since i'm in pajamas so much now, they might as well be cute!
tommorrow i'm going to the dentist to rebuild my tooth that broke off like 6 months ago. i didn't want to have any dental work done while i was pregnant, so i had been holding off until now, but i am so ready for this tooth to stop hurting and be fixed.
enjoy your monday night! are you going to watch the bachelor wedding-jason and molly? i am!

playing catch-up

i can't believe it's been almost a week since i blogged! i'm not going to have any followers left if i don't step it up, right?! it has been a busy week, but honestly, i haven't had a lot to blog about...
can you believe my baby girl has enough hair to put into pigtails!! i didn't leave them in (if you're worried about her swallowing the rubber bands) but i just thought she looked so grown up with her hair like that.
she's started opening her eyes really wide like this when i'm talking to her. when i open my eyes wide and raise my eyebrows, she mimics me. too cute!

uncle aaron and aunt peggy brought salad and pizza and dessert over last night. it was so yummy, and we had a fun time catching up with them. this time last year, we were in las vegas with them, and mike and i were trying to get pregnant! what a difference a year makes.

sadie was mesmerized by aaron. she kept smiling and staring at him.

and today my sweet sweet hubs (he told me to say how wonderful he is) took care of sadie the whole day so i could go get pampered! i got a pedicure and massage at this spa and it was divine. then i went to barnes & noble and got mike a landscaping book and sadie a book called "the brave butterfly" and i got me a bookmark that says "keep calm and have a cupcake" i think that's gonna be my new motto!

tonight i made chocolate cupcakes with vanilla frosting and pink sparkles, and i'm about to go enjoy one! there's nothing better than a good cupcake and a glass of milk!

and tonight, we started sadie's bedtime routine. all the baby books say to start a routine so baby knows when it's bedtime, but that is way harder to do for real. especially with a little baby. at 7:30, we put her in her pajamas, read a story, said her prayers, and drank a bottle, and she was asleep in her crib by 8:03. yea for the routine!

sucky monday

i've determined mondays suck. i never even use that word, but it is the only way to describe my mondays lately. i think i get used to mike being with us all weekend long, so when he goes back to work on mondays, i just get exhausted and overwhelmed all over again. yesterday i was also dreading my 6 week check up at the ob/gyn...crazy i know, i just delivered a baby and i'm scared for a little exam! so my sweet aunt vicki came to watch sadie while i went to the dr. as soon as i got there, i started my period (ugh...sorry if tmi) thank goodness he didn't end up doing an internal exam. but i felt bad and had a headache all day long. however, i was determined to make my chicken artichoke tomato penne for dinner which is pictured above. as soon as we sat down to eat, sadie decided it was bedtime and started to cry/fuss/wiggle.
mike and i took turns trying to get her to sleep and in between argued and snapped at each other for an hour and a half. being tired, hormonal, and having a period for the first time in a year does not make for a pleasant evening. anyway, by the time sadie went to sleep, my pasta was cold and disgusting and i through the entire pan into the garbage disposal and made myself and peanut butter and honey sandwich!
but i did manage to get this sweet pic of sadie looking at her daddy while he fed her...

this morning mom came and helped me with sadie for a couple hours since i was still feeling awful and had had a splitting headache all night long. i started feeling better midmorning and today turned out to be a pretty good day. the sun was shining, we went to target, and took a nice long walk in the neighborhood.
here's nana with miss sadie belle

and some close ups!

sadie had a rough night tonight...she's seems to be constipated and her little tummy was hurting so bad. it's just the worst thing to not be able to make her feel better immediately. the dr. told me to try pedialyte in her formula. have any of you moms tried that and does it work??
