if you have no interest in nurseries or nursery decor, do not read this post! {wink}

so i have been stressing over this baby's room for awhile. and now that we are entering the week that we find out if we're having a sadie or crew, i of course, want to have everything planned in advance for the baby's room. i have gone from wanting to buy baby bedding, to having it made, back to buying it already made...so here are my final choices for baby furniture and bedding. please let me know what you think. i need your help!
oh! and my choices #1 and #2 are not necessarily in order of what i like the best... choice #1 for sadie's dresser/changing table
choice #2 for sadie's dresser/changing table
sadie's crib (baby mod at wal mart)
choice #1 for sadie's bedding (more expensive of the two)
choice #2 for crew's dresser/changing table
choice #2 for crew's crib
choice #2 for sadie's dresser/changing table
sadie's crib (baby mod at wal mart)
choice #1 for sadie's bedding (more expensive of the two)
choice #2 for crew's crib
Hi! I found your blog through Kelly's Korner a couple of months ago. I loved your kitchen so much I kept coming back to look at it and now I've just stuck around! I love your blog! You definitely can't go wrong with any of the choices. If I have to pick though, I love dresser #2 and bedding #1 for Sadie (LOVE that bedding). Dresser #1 and crib # 1 for Crew. Like I said though, you can't go wrong! Good luck and congratulations!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, you have great, great style! I agree that you can't go wrong. If you want to use the dresser when he/she is older (and buy a new bed), go w/ the one that doesn't look like a changing table. You don't necessarly need those little sides. And the bedding? SUPER! Danielle, I can't wait to see it all put together. Once you get your accessories, etc. it will all come together and look amazing!
ReplyDeleteAnd...I bought the girls' bedding from a store and liked it a lot. I custom ordered Henry's bedding (mixing black and white stripes and polka dots) and never want him to grow out of it. There's just something about having unique things! :)
I'm another Kelly's Korner blog lurker:)
ReplyDeleteFirst, do not buy anything from Ikea if you are hoping to keep it for a long time. We have dresser #2 for our daughter and after less than 2 years, it's already broken. Ugh. I would be careful about getting cheap furniture for your baby's room (unless you plan on purchasing new furniture in the future if you have another baby). Go get some well built stuff - babies are tough on furniture.
Second, Serena and Lily bedding is worth every penny. It's well constructed, it's soft and it stays beautiful over years. My daughter had the "Charlotte" crib set from Serena and Lily. She still sleeps with that chenille bumper and she is 4 years old. It is GREAT. I would pick Sadie bedding #1.
And I would pick Crew bedding/furniture #1 but you should check out the boy stuff at Serena and Lily. It's so fabulously made.
Hi! I've been reading your blog for a few months now (came from Kelly's Korner.) I love your style and taste and reading your blog is a lot of fun :)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I like choice #1 for Sadie's dressar and also the bedding.
For Crew, I don't think you can go wrong either way, but I would go with the white furniture in case you have more babies down the road, and they are girls... you could re use it :) There is something special about white nursery furniture. I wish we had gotten it (instead of natural) for our baby boy!
WOW! They really all are beautiful! But I will be back later to post my choices. About to leave the house, so I'll pick later. Have to have more time to study them! =)
ReplyDeleteOk I'm back! =)
ReplyDeleteHere's my picks: Dresser #1 for Sadie. Love the sleigh look to the sides and the side door looks neat for storage - You could put some cute baskets inside. Besides you need the side rails so the changing pad doesn't slide off.
And the Baby Mod bed is adorable.
For the bedding for Sadie: I am SOOOO torn. I really love the first one. I love the pattern on the light green bumper; BUT I also love the 2nd bedding too! The pattern is adorable and it looks quilted on the side, kinda like patchwork - really cute. I think either one would be great!!! Hard choice. Depends on the price diffence - that would probably be the deciding factor for me because they are both beautiful.
Ok - for Crew you HAVE to get the polka dot bedding!!! That is just too cute! Which means you have to go with the dark wood which would look great with the bed and be classic for a little boy! I like crib & dresser #1 for him.
Hope this helps! 4 more days 'til you know for sure! YAY!

ReplyDeleteHere's the picture!
I posted that link but I don't know if it will work! I thought I posted a comment a few minutes ago, but I don't know if it went through! I love the Serena and Lily and that link was to a picture I posted on my blog a while back. It's a picture of a room where that bedding was used. There is a green and pink harelquin (sp.?) pattern painted on the wall. It's so cute! If the link doesn't work, you can go to the May post under archives and scroll down towards the bottom!
ReplyDeleteI found your blog a few weeks ago and loved the menus! I always need ideas!
