i don't feel productive today...it's not because i haven't been busy. i had class this morning and errands to run. plus i made a banana pudding for mamajeanne and grandaddy...it's their 67th anniversary today, wow! but i just don't feel like doing anything else for the rest of the day and it's only 2:40 pm.

like that grocery list that i have to make, and the springy colored snapdragons i have to buy and plant in our front flower beds...not really motivated to do those things. and i still have to do my 2nd day of runners' training too. maybe i'll get some motivation soon, but for right now, here are some random pics of my house today.

you know i was a child of the 80s and i LOVED it! the music, the clothes, the movies. do you remember the goonies? such a good movie! and flight of the navigator? that's perfection on the big screen, no?!

this saturday, at the hippodrome, they are doing a screening of footloose and having a dress like the 80s contest! i'm so there...hehe i have visions of mike in a couple of layered pink and turquoise polo shirts and pegged jeans, me in a side ponytail, coulots, and jelly sandals...don't you think we could win?! anywho, here's you a RAD 80s video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwBbMXYDsXw

on a different subject, i went to the domain in austin (an AWESOME shopping center) and had to pick up a little charm for my juicy couture bracelet! (i realize some might think it looks 'easterish', but i just loved it because it is turquoise...besides there's eggs and chickens all year long right!

setting goals

are you a goal setter? i don't know that i would call myself one..i'm more of a lister maker and checker offer (not a word?) i like quick results, like clean the toilets-done, make dinner-done, organize my armoire-done. i feel good, i've accomplished something in less than 30 minutes, and i don't feel guilty if i sit down to watch lost or american idol.

but i have a new goal. it's a long term one, and we are talking LONG TERM since i have not even begun to work on this goal (unless you count one day last week). what is my goal???

i am going to be a RUNNER. like where i can run for more than 3.5 minutes without feeling sick and having a pain in my side. where i actually enjoy it, like all those terribly in shape people in my neighborhood that go jogging by day after day...that's gonna be me in a few short months! so this is how i'm going to do it

we are family

last friday, at mom and les' reception, we got to meet 2 of our new siblings! i had talked to staci on the phone, but had never met her! she is the sweetest thing...so bubbly and cheerful! and bryson was so nice too.

i'm so glad it went so smoothly. i think we will get along really well!

p.s. evidently my blue dress made me look 4 months pregnant in EVERY picture that was taken. but no, i'm not pregnant.

oh, and check out the cool dance moves in this video. i'm thinking of trying a few of them out next time i'm on the dance floor!

i think when you get used to having a little dog in your house, it's hard to not have one anymore. our sweet buffy had to be put to sleep a few months ago, and i have recently started thinking about getting another inside dog...i said i wouldn't because they are so much work and tie us down to being at home or having someone be there with them when we're travelling. but how can i resist a little face like this one?

i'm not getting a yorkie anytime soon, but maybe eventually...who knows? more importantly, if and when i do, i'll need an adorable name to go with that cutie face. i want a little girl, so some of my choices are greta, bella, and chloe. do you have any suggestions?

oh boy

i love this boy. he and i agree that we are such good travel partners...we really like to do the same things on vaca like chill, shop, lay by the pool, and eat good food!

and after spending practically every minute together for 10 days, we still love each other!! and miss each other today when he had to go back to work.

don't get me wrong, i LOVE my alone time, and so does he, but we genuinely enjoy being around each other a lot, which i think is a good thing.

paris

we got back from las vegas yesterday...we had such a great, fun, relaxing, and busy time all rolled into one trip!

saturday night we went to paris and ate at the eiffel tower restaurant. it was on the 5th floor of the eiffel tower at the paris hotel. such a gorgeous view of the bellagio from the restaurant. we had a chocolate souffle that was indescribably good!

none of us knows what tommorrow will bring, so i am making a promise to myself to enjoy each day of life, to be content no matter what the day brings, to tell the people i love that i love them, to give my husband a big hug each morning just because i woke up next to him, and to take time to enjoy instead of always crossing things off my to do list.

sometimes i take for granted simple things like cooking dinner for us or sitting on our patio on warm nights playing with the dogs. but those are the things that make life peaceful and fun.

are you enjoying the coming of spring as much as i am today? it is beautiful weather-75 and sunny...the PERFECT weather in my opinion.
