the personal shower was so amazing! everyone wore black and white, which was adorable for pictures...the food was great, and the decorations were so cute...not to mention all the beautiful things mom got! i'll upload the rest of the pics and share them tommorrow!

ladies luncheon

these are cutie pics from mom's luncheon on friday...she wanted an intimate luncheon for the girls in our family...it turned out so adorable and yummy! susanne and i only burned a few things {wink}! the food was delish...we had chicken piccata w/artichokes (see 'food chain' post), field greens with sliced strawberries, walnuts, and balsamic vinagrette, raspberry tea, and homemade coconut, chocolate, and pecan pies (thanks mj)!

sorry i don't have time to think of a cute 'song' title for my blog today! this weekend was a whirlwind of fun, energy, and love...mom's luncheon on friday,bachelorette dinner friday night, and shower on saturday were beautiful and so much fun. here is one pic and plenty more to come...

whiter shade of pale

this blog title is so appropriate for my post today...i have been sick with a bug since 4:30 am...yuck, yuck, yuck. i always say i would rather be bleeding to death that be sick to my stomach. okay, maybe that's a bit dramatic, but i truly hate it! i even tried to go to my "happy place" susanne, but it didn't quite work!

this week has been busy with last minute shower preparations. i made a cutie card banner for the gift table (which i will be posting pics of later), and susanne has been working on goodie bags all week. i think the black and white theme we're doing is going to be adorable. can't wait to see all the yummy b & w foods we're going to be eating.

cowgirl

do you own a pair of boots? i don't. not real cowgirl boots, i just have boots to wear with leggings or boots to wear with skirts. but i'm thinking, i'm a texan right? i grew up on LAND...that entitles me to needing a pair of boots. so since mike got a nice bonus for being such a good little banker this year, i'm gettin' me some boots (did that sound country enough?)

these boots are vintage inspired tobacco distressed leather...i thought they were cool. what do you think?

oh! and totally unrelated...i think american idol is not a talent competition any longer. what was with wednesday's selection of the top 36?! the judges are picking people that fit the "characters" they need on the show, and letting some of the really talented ones go. but my pick for season 8 winner is danny...the guy with the cool glasses that just lost his wife.

better together

i went to susanne's this weekend to plan mom's personal shower...we crammed so much planning and work into 48 hours. even though we're both exhausted, i think the shower will be too cute and fun!

mckinlee was such a big help. she helped us with the invitations and decorations. sometimes i forget how grown up she is...sunday morning she took our orders for breafast and made the entire breakfast herself. scrambled eggs, cooked ham, and cinnamon twists with icing. it was delish!! and i was so impressed!

mom and susanne and i laughed all weekend about everything. i don't if we were just delirious from lack of sleep or what but i haven't laughed that hard in awhile. we went to eat lunch at panda express, and i kept trying to get a good shot of the 3 of us, and kept messing up which made us laugh harder. which one is your favorite?

Someone Like You

mom said she's been looking for someone like him for a long time...and now they are getting married!!! we couldn't be more thrilled for them. it's hard for me to say in words what a wonderful person mom is...she is so loving and kind, and always, always thinks of others and generously gives to others. but i'm so glad that now she can think about herself for a little bit and have somebody special to take care of her and love her! i can't wait to welcome him into our family!
