happy wordless wednesday!!

last week

thank you to everyone for such sweet comments about the loss of my grandaddy! it has been a busy week with visitation, the funeral, and having family in town.

in the midst of all the sadness, we were able to enjoy some happy times, so here are a few...

our family picture (sadie bella looks a bit scared huh?) s got to spend lots of time with her zia and mimi (susanne and mckinlee) she adores both of them! it was SO nice having both of them to help with sadie-so sad when they left

i don't let her watch much tv at all, but i got a new baby einstein, baby davinci dvd and she is mesmerized by it. here she is watching!

and we've gotten quite a bit of pool time in lately. she's my little water baby! here she is sitting with zia...

and my girl has found her toes to suck on...just in the last couple of days. it is the cutest thing to watch. (nana captured this great picture of her :)

have a great week and remember to tell your family you love them! cherish each day because you never know what tommorrow may bring.

loss

last night my sweet grandaddy lost his battle with cancer. he was 91.

the entire family was there to say our goodbyes, tell him we love him, and even sing to him.

he was a wonderfully quiet man who loved his family, his horses and cows, old western movies, and most importantly his God.

i viewed him as a father figure since i didn't have a dad growing up and he was always the strong one, so to see him grow weaker and weaker with cancer was horrible and sad.

but we know he is just resting in God's memory and we will see him again.

five months

what's that you say?? i'm 5 months old!

HOORAY!
here are some of the things i'm doing...

i LOVE to eat! i eat apples, bananas, squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, and green beans. peas are the only food i don't like too much. here i am in my high chair. i like to rest one foot on the tray. hehe!

jackson is my friend and helped babysit me (with his mom and dad of course)

i love to go to the pool and splash water all over me.

and i go out to lunch with mommy

for the first time this week, i tried drinking water out of a sippy cup. i'm not quite sure whether to swallow or let the water spill out of my mouth, but i'm working on it!

backyard reveal-before and after

i've missed blogging...like actually writing words to go with my pics! so i figure i'll blog a little bit. maybe not with every post, but at least some...

SO...

our big backyard renovation!!

we have had a plain, sad backyard the entire 2 years we've lived here, so we decided to make it pretty. especially since this is the only scenery we'll be seeing for awhile. no beach trips for us this year ;)

the after on the grill-we put granite to finish the counters and added and stainless backsplash

the outdoor room with fireplace and space for a tv (that is if we can ever afford a tv after this project!)

smith & hawken furniture we got at target...love it!

we are loving our backyard now!! we go out there so many nights after putting sadie to sleep and just have a glass of wine and relax!
